What is VTEC?
VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) is Hondas system for varying valve timing and lift. It allows engines to have both efficiency at low RPM and power at high RPM.
How VTEC Works
- Two cam lobe profiles (low/high)
- Oil pressure activated rocker arm pin
- Engages at specific RPM
- Creates the famous "VTEC kick"
